Digital Asset Manager uses EMC Documentum Content Transformation Services products to provide the functionality needed to transform a file and include it in a zip file. This feature is helpful for exceptionally large files. The file will be packaged into a zip file after the transformation is completed and will reside in the object’s renditions list.
You can view the status of your transformation requests in the Transformations node of the navigation tree. An indicator also appears next to files that have transformation requests:
A yellow indicator (
) indicates that the file has a pending transformation request.A green indicator (
) indicates that a transformation request is currently processing.A red indicator (
) indicates that a transformation request has failed.

Not all features mentioned in the following procedure are available for all file formats and some file formats cannot be transformed. See Renditions and transformations overview for more information on renditions and transformations.
To create a package through transformation:
Navigate to and select the file that you want to transform to create a new package.
Note
You can transform a parent file or a rendition.
Select Tools > Transform > More Formats.
The Transform wizard appears.
In the Select Transformation tab, select a transformation profile and click Next.
The Transformation Details tab may appear if there are any details that may be entered, or are required for the selected transformation.
Enter any information necessary for setting the parameters of the transformation and click Next.
In the Save As tab, select New Package.
Click Finish.
The transformation request is immediately sent to the appropriate queue for processing.
