Importing files with assigned rights

Rights managers can associate rights within a repository to a file during the import process.

To import files with rights:

  1. Navigate to the repository location to import to.

  2. Select File > Import. Then click either Add Files or Add Folders. Select the file or folder and click OK. To add multiple files or folders, repeat the sequence. When you have finished, click Next.

    Caution

The same intellectual property rights must be applied to all files selected for import. Any modifications required for individual files included in the import must be performed after the import, using the Properties dialog.

  3. If prompted to set properties for imported files, set properties as required.

  4. Do one of these:

    • If importing one file, click OK.

    • If importing multiple files, set properties for each file separately by clicking Next. After the last file, click Finish.

Tip: To apply the selected properties to all remaining files at once, click Finish.

The files are imported to the repository.

  5. The IP Rights Object Definition dialog appears.

Assign IP Right: You can assign IP rights by selecting either one of the options displayed.
