The contents of a collection can be ordered to be stored or played, such as with a video bin collection.
When the collection composition changes (that is, new items are added or items are removed), the content order adjusts accordingly. New items are added to the end of the collection and any deletion shifts the remaining items after it to a higher position in the collection.
When a user enters the Reorder Collection Items screen, the collection is locked to prevent any others from changing its structure.
Contents of a collection cannot be ordered when the collection is locked by another user.
To order the contents of a collection:
Navigate to and select a collection.
Select Collection > Order > Reorder Items.
The Reorder Collection Items dialog appears.
Click the Up and Down buttons to move the contents of the collection.
Click OK.
Select Collection > Order > View Order.
The collection is sorted in its persistent order and the view is refreshed.
If you sort a collection through the column attribute sorting mechanism you may restore the view back to the persistent collection ordering.
