Playing a video from video details

Video Details shows an embedded video player which is used to play the default rendition of a video object. You can play a video’s default rendition from the Video Details if the file is contained on a streaming file store.

The controls in the Video Details screen allow you to play, pause, forward, reverse, and stop the video at any point. Volume controls are also provided.

Populating the Mark In and Mark Out fields below the video player allows you to play a specific segment of the video.

If you are viewing a parent video, you can play either the parent video from the embedded video player, or you can play a sub-clip from the Sub-clips tab. If you are viewing a sub-clip, the Video Details screen provides the following options to choose from:

If the video player has been turned off or if the default rendition is not playable, the player contains only a thumbnail representation of the video.

To play a video from the Video Details screen:

  1. Navigate to and select a video file.

  2. Select View > Video Details.

The Video Details screen opens in another window.

  3. Use the controls for the embedded video player to play the video.

If you are viewing a sub-clip video, you can play the parent video by selecting the View Parent Video link. This opens the parent video’s Video Details in a new browser.
