Storyboard overview

A storyboard consists of a series of low-bandwidth, low-resolution thumbnails or images that display the contents of a video file or of a multipage document (Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and Adobe PDFs). Each thumbnail or image is treated as a rendition of the original file.

Digital Asset Manager can generate storyboards automatically upon import or checkin of a file provided your system has been configured with a supporting Documentum product that can produce storyboards.

You can view a file’s storyboard through the Storyboard tab of the file’s Properties page. Video storyboards are also available from the Storyboard tab of the Video Details page, if available.

For PowerPoint Presentations, the storyboard displays the presentation’s slides as a sequence of thumbnails.

For PDFs, the storyboard displays the PDF’s pages as a sequence of thumbnails.

For videos, the storyboard displays as a sequence of images from the video.
