Viewing video text tracks

Text tracks contain textual descriptions for segments of a video file. Some examples of text tracks that may be available include:

Additional types of text tracks may be available for your system.

For video files that contain text tracks, all text tracks are viewable in the Text Tracks tab of Video Details. In the Text Tracks tab, a drop-down filter contains only the text track types that are available for the video.

For each text track, the start timecode and end timecode are displayed, along with the text track data.

Text tracks can be stored on both parent and sub-clip videos. The Video Details for a sub-clip displays text tracks assigned to itself or to its parent within the boundaries of the start and end timecodes of the sub-clip. For sub-clips, text tracks are stored on the sub-clip document by default. For parent videos, text tracks are always stored on the main video document. During text track creation, you may opt to store the text track on the parent video document so that it is accessible to all videos that contain the timecode boundaries of the text track.

To view video text tracks:

  1. Navigate to and select a video file.

  2. Select View > Video Details.

The Video Details screen opens for the video file.
