The Download As feature allows you to combine a collection download with a transformation request, enabling you to specify the desired format of the files that are delivered to your computer.
The Download As collection is saved as a temporary collection automatically when you choose to transform items. Temporary collections avoid affecting the original collection with changes required for the transformations requested.
Temporary collections are available in the Active Downloads folder. You can check the status of a collection by returning to view it at any time. The Temporary Collection automatically receives the name of the collection with Download of: appended to the beginning of the name. For example, if you were downloading a collection named Airline Photos, then the temporary collection would be named Download of: Airline Photos.
To download a collection with transformations:
Navigate to and view the contents of a collection.
Select the collection checkbox in the file list and click Download As.
The Download As wizard appears containing the selected items and the formats that are possible for the current formats.
Select the format that you want for the collection contents and click Next.
The Confirm Format page appears showing the availability of the chosen format.
If the items have a rendition of that format already, then the status for those items is displayed as green (
). These items are available immediately.If a transformation for the selected format is possible, the status for those items is displayed as yellow (
).If the selected format does not exist in the repository, and the system is unable to perform a transformation for the item, the status for that item is displayed as red (
).
Do one of the following:
If all items have a status of green (
), click Download and go to Step 10.If there are any items with a status of yellow (
), click Next and go to the next step to transform the items to the selected format.Click the Remove link beside a status summary to remove the selected format.
The Transform wizard appears.
If there is more than one transformation available that allows you to achieve the selected format, the Select Transformation tab displays the selected files and the available transformations that are applicable to all of the selected files.
Select a transformation profile and click Next.
The Transformation Details tab may appear if there are any details that may be entered, or are required for the selected transformation.
Enter any information necessary for setting the parameters of the transformation and click Next.
The Rendition Definition tab may appear.
If a rendition of this file in the same format already exists for any of the selected files, then you can differentiate the new rendition you are creating by giving the rendition a unique identifier in the Rendition Description field. Click Next.
A notice that the transformation request has been submitted to the server is displayed.
Click Finish.
You are automatically brought to the Active Download page where you can view the transformation status. You can return to the Active Download page at any time through the Collection menu. When all transformations are complete (the Active Download has a status of green
), the collection is ready to download. Note

When you are ready to download the collection, select the collection checkbox in the file list and click Download.
Select a format for downloading the collection.
Select the checkbox if you want to delete the Active Download (temporary collection) when it has been downloaded successfully. This option is selected by default.
Click OK.
Select a name and location for the file or files in the Save As dialog.
Click OK or Save.
The collection is saved to the selected location.
