PowerPoint Assembly Overview

When PowerPoint files are imported into the Documentum system, a Content Transformation Services product processes the file and generates a JPG format rendition of each slide in the presentation. Each slide is then treated as a separate rendition object in the repository. This allows you to work with slides on an individual basis, and add them to the PowerPoint Assembly.

The PowerPoint Assembly is a holding area that allows you to collect slides from one or more PowerPoint presentations in the repository and reassemble them into new presentations. You can add, remove, and sort slides from various PowerPoint presentations until you have the slides you want in the Assembly. You can then build a new PowerPoint presentation from the slides you have arranged in the PowerPoint Assembly, creating a new PowerPoint object in the repository.

Caution

The availability of the storyboard and the PowerPoint Assembly is dependant upon other EMC Documentum products installed in your Documentum system and configured for your repository. Without the presence of these products, storyboards will not be generated for imported PowerPoint Presentation files and the PowerPoint Assembly feature will not be available. Contact your system administrator for questions regarding availability of storyboards and the PowerPoint Assembly in your installation of Digital Asset Manager.
